9161 Fairmount Rd. Jacksontown, Ohio
historic old Fairmount Church has declining membership
and will close. The
Church was built in 1833. The old wood structure suffered
a fire and was re-built
in 1883. Members of the Church recently celebrated the
175th anniversary of the
Church. Remaining items will be sold at auction to assist
Twenty-two (22) thirteen foot long, straight oak pews,
two corner pews, two (2) four
foot long pews and several pew cushions. Three Gothic
style Deacons' chairs, the
oak pulpit, brass railing from the choir loft, 10 plank
seat, spindle back utility
chairs, three small chandeliers and a pair of Art-Deco
wall sconces. There are two
Lenox (10,000 BTU) gas furnaces installed in 2005.
The Church bell was cast at the Niles Works Bell Foundry,
Cincinnati. The bell is 20"
high and has a 26" diameter. The bell has a
"hand-brake" and I'm told it was used
as a "signal bell" in the early years.

an hour to an hour
and a half. BE ON TIME !!!
